A good quality product begins with good quality raw materials. In our case, we’re talking about pipe! The pipe we use for our playground equipment is galvanized steel. The interior of the pipe is sealed with a 90% zinc-rich coating, and the exterior is bathed in continuous in-line galvanized coating. It then receives an intermediate conversion coating to inhibit white rust and is finished off with a clear polymer coating to seal in protection. In a nutshell: you’re not going to have to worry about rust, even years from now! The metal itself is a cold-rolled, high-strength steel that provides a minimum yield strength of 50,000 psi. To top it all off, it’s made here in the USA!
By using this high-quality pipe, each swing on our swing sets can hold 300 pounds, allowing kids of ALL ages to play! Not only that, but our sets are made to last. We have had customers stop by our store and tell us that they bought a swing set from us when we started almost 40 years ago, and the set is still going strong! They had originally bought it for their kids, but now their grandkids are using it.
Settling for a cheaper product gives you exactly that: a cheaper product. Other companies use pipe that is paper thin (just look at this picture!), can only hold a few hundred pounds TOTAL, and are not made to last more than a few years.
